His Excellency the Minister of Health visits DDI to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation

Dr. Faisal Hamed Al-Refaei, Acting Director General of DDI, met with H.E. Dr. Ahmed Abdul Wahab Al-Awadi, Minister of Health, in efforts to enhance cooperation, integration development, and community partnership.

Dr. Al-Refaei and Dr. Al-Awadi discussed several topics including updating and developing the cooperation agreement between the two parties, the digital transformation of medical services, electronically linking patient data, and exchanging the experiences of medical specialties and competencies between the Institute and the Ministry.

The meeting also addressed development of aspects of cooperation in the fields of research, education, and training to raise health standards, reflecting the interest of patients, and ensuring the effectiveness of the treatment of diabetes and its complications.

His Excellency was briefed on the Institute’s services and educational programs offered to people with diabetes, healthcare professionals, and the general public. Dr. Al-Awadi also praised the developments, achievements, and awards attained by DDI in the field of diabetes research and its related complications.

His Excellency concluded the visit with a tour of the Institute and expressed his full support in strengthening continuous cooperation between the Ministry and the Institute, to achieve common goals.
