A team from Dasman Diabetes Institute (DDI), representing Kuwait, participated in the American Diabetes Association’s 84th Scientific Sessions held recently in Orlando. Acting Director General of the Institute, Dr Faisal Hamed Al-Refaei, said in a press statement on Wednesday that Kuwait’s participation in the event is the largest of its kind in the Arab World, with four scientific lectures and 13 research posters presented.

Al-Refaei noted that several research projects were discussed in meetings held on the sidelines of the sessions by DDI and prestigious entities such as Yale University and the University of Texas at San Antonio. This participation aligns with the institute’s plans to expand its research cooperation with leading universities and research centers worldwide in the field of diabetes and its complications. The goal is to contribute to combating the disease through advanced programs, projects, and research studies, Al-Refaei concluded.
