SARAH QABAZARD
Meet the scientists behind DDI’s research
SARAH QABAZARD is graduated with a BSc in Nutrition from the University of Hertfordshire and a MSc in Clinical and Public Health Nutrition from University College London in the United Kingdom. During her summer holidays, Sarah would volunteer at DDI shadowing Dietitians and creating nutritional presentations and leaflets for visitors at DDI. Upon moving back to Kuwait, Sarah joined DDI as a full-time Senior Research Assistant in the Population Health Department headed by Dr. Hessa Al-Kandari. Her role involves assisting in writing research proposals, collecting, and analyzing data and disseminating study results in international conferences and journals.
Currently, she is involved in 6 research projects conducted at DDI and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. Some of these projects include: the Kuwait National Diabetes Registry (KNDR), Kuwait National Population Health Survey, and DDI becoming a Center of Reference: for the international SWEET network. Recently, she authored “The Pediatric COVID-19 Registry in Kuwait: Methodology and Results of the Pilot Phase” . She is currently co-authoring a second methodology manuscript on the development of KNDR. This year she presented abstracts in two international conferences: The International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes and the International Diabetes Federation. She also co-authored an abstract presented at the 2021 American Academy for Pediatrics conference.
